Drainage Engineer – Metro Rod, York & Hull. Covering the Hull area. Salary up to £32,760 – £39,870 DOE + on-call, overtime & commission.
Metro Rod works with leading companies such as Equans, Amey, Aldi, Mitie, Greggs, McDonalds and Wetherspoons across FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb deliver drain clearance and maintenance services through over 60 franchisees across the UK. Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, we also operate Willow Pumps and Filta, focusing on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions.
As a full‑time Drainage Engineer you will provide emergency and contracted services to both commercial and domestic customers, working from a company van with a fuel card.
What does it entail?
* Carry out cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance of drains.
* Operate high‑pressure water jetting equipment following rigorous safety standards.
* Conduct surveys.
* Deliver exceptional customer service and technical expertise.
* Record work details accurately via bespoke internal/client systems and apps.
* Communicate effectively with high‑profile clients and Metro Rod support centre colleagues.
* Participate in an on‑call rota (approximately one week in four, variable by business needs).
What are we looking for?
* Experience with high‑pressure water jetting and CCTV surveying (commercial drainage experience a plus, full training provided).
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and solid technical knowledge.
* Positive, flexible, can‑do attitude.
* Willingness to work unsociable hours.
* Full UK driving licence.
