Overview
We have a great opportunity for a skilled and adaptable Verification and Validation (V&V) Test Engineer to join our Real‑Time Embedded software department.
Salary: Circa £64,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically 4 days per week on‑site, due to workload classification.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Take requirements and develop them into robust test cases.
* Prepare and execute tests.
* Capture data.
* Deliver actionable feedback to project teams.
* Draw upon practical problem‑solving skills, data acquisition expertise, and adaptability.
Qualifications
* Strong experience of Verification and Validation (V&V) activities in an embedded software environment.
* Embedded software development experience using Ada.
* Experience turning requirements into structured test cases and procedures.
* Experience working in a laboratory environment on an electro‑mechanical product running embedded software.
* Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle.
* Scripting abilities.
* Desirable: safety‑critical systems experience.
* Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00‑55, DO-178C & DO-330.
* Knowledge of Real‑Time Operating Systems.
* Model‑Driven Design experience.
* Knowledge of test automation methods.
* Knowledge of DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, LDRA Breakpoint Analysis experience.
* Experience of Focused Code Reviews.
