Production Operative As a Production Operative you will work as part of the Grating and Packing team under the Line to carry out the daily production plan by performing routine packing line tasks including feeding different sized cheese to the grating machines, bagging and sealing of offcuts, packing finished good products into cardboard boxes and SRPs as customer needs dictate and hand stacking finished cases onto pallets. This position is 40 hours per week with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday/Alternate shifts 6.00am-2.00pm/2.00pm-10.00pm. You must also be willing to work flexible hours including, early starts and late finishes to cover absence/holidays as required. The Role: To ensure safe and timely packing of all the different sized portions of cheese as per the daily production plan. Inspect, check and reject product where necessary to all the company Standard Operating Procedures and training Report any non-conformances/machine faults/issues with cheese/incorrect coding details to Team Leader/QC or Shift Manager Operate and monitor production equipment safely as per company Standard Operating Procedures Keep accurate records of production activities to comply with company and legislative requirements. Work in a safe manner both personally and with other team members ensuring safe working practices and health and safety guidelines are always followed Strictly follow the departments cleaning schedule and support other functions as deemed necessary Undertaking manual handling tasks including hand stacking product/packing into boxes and onto pallets. Ensure correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn in High Care/Low care packing areas. The Person Essential: Minimum of 6 months experience in manufacturing environment Basic numeracy and oral communication skills Ability to demonstrate good attention to detail Competent in MS Office Proactive approach to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative Ability to work steadily and methodically to carry out routine manual handling tasks Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of safe working practices and manual handling practices Desirable: 6 months experience within a similar food handling production environment Basic Food Hygiene Learn more about the company and to apply online or from the Connected App using the Careers tile.
