Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a committed and confident professional to join our Practical Training Unit as a Management of Violence and Aggression (MAV) Advisor. Responsibilities
* Deliver Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training consistently across Trust services, ensuring agreed learning outcomes are met.
* Provide specialist advice and practical support to clinical teams promoting least restrictive and trauma‑informed approaches.
* Coach, role‑model and support staff in de‑escalation and safe physical intervention techniques.
* Adapt training delivery to meet individual learning needs, including reasonable adjustments.
* Support post‑incident reviews, reflective practice and identification of learning.
* Contribute to the development, review and delivery of PMVA training materials and packages.
* Assess learner competence, fitness and capability, escalating concerns where required.
* Maintain accurate training records and contribute to training evaluation in line with RRN standards.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues and subject matter experts.
* Support bespoke in‑service training and clinical advice days across inpatient, community and home settings.
Qualifications
* Experience working in mental health, learning disability or a similar care setting.
* Confidence supporting staff in challenging or high‑risk situations.
* Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
* A calm, professional and compassionate approach.
Band
Candidates with a recognised teaching qualification will be appointed at Band 4. Applicants without a teaching qualification will be appointed at Band 3.
