Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of Redbridge Council for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the HASS Cranbrook and Loxford Team within Adult Social Care.
The Role:
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working across the borough, supporting adults through holistic, person-centred assessments, and ensuring the provision of effective and safe adaptations and equipment. Caseloads typically include around 4 cases per week, covering both complex and standard OT cases.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake comprehensive OT assessments, support planning, and reviews for adults with a range of health and social care needs.
2. Assess for and recommend major adaptations and complex equipment, including preparing detailed specifications, sketches, and reading plans.
3. Provide advice and support on manual handling and safe working practices.
4. Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team to deliver integrated community health and adult social care services.
5. Manage, prioritise, and progress complex cases independently.
Essential Requirements:
6. Excellent knowledge and experience in assessing for and recommending major adaptations and complex equipment, including manual handling.
7. Proven experience working within multi-disciplinary teams, undertaking complex, holistic, person-centred assessments.
8. Strong understanding of the legal social care framework and relevant housing legislation.
9. Ability to manage and prioritise a complex caseload effectively.
10. Skilled in assessing, recommending, and reviewing simple and complex equipment, ensuring safe and effective use.
Essential Experience:
11. In-depth knowledge of specialist equipment, major adaptations, and manual handling.
12. Experience working autonomously within a multi-disciplinary setting.
13. Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy recognised by the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
