An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to join our Barrhead Locality Social Work Team based within the Health and Social Care Partnership, Adult Services. This will involve duty work for the team, managing a caseload and assessing and reviewing individual cases in line with our Supporting People Framework.


You will have a good understanding of the current health and social care landscape; self-directed support; the value of outcomes focussed supports for people to enable them to live in their communities and recognise the value of forming effective relationships with other professionals and agencies. This includes the importance of our third sector and community partnerships, and the key role they play in supporting individuals across East Renfrewshire.


We are a modern and ambitious Health and Social Care Partnership who are focussed on the people of East Renfrewshire achieving their full potential, regardless of any additional barriers.


*Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.


This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.


If you are not currently registered with SSSC you will commence employment as a Social Work Assistant (Grade 7) until full registration is obtained.


This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently have registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must apply to register within the first 3 months of employment to ensure registration is complete within 6 months of starting in your role).
