Business Development Manager - Commercial Solar (PV) Location : Hybrid / Nationwide (with occasional travel to Leeds or Exeter offices) Salary : £50,000 - £60,000, £100,000 OTE Company Car Experience Required : Minimum 3 years in Commercial Solar BDM Join Us and Help Drive the UK Toward Zero Carbon This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving renewable energy business at a pivotal moment. As we expand our high-performing sales team, we're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with strong commercial PV knowledge and a passion for helping businesses transition to clean energy. When our journey began in 1979, renewable and off-grid energy wasn't about carbon reduction it was about getting power to remote locations. More than four decades later, we're still helping clients in hard-to-reach places, but our mission has evolved. Today, everything we do is driven by reducing carbon emissions. Our goal To save 1 million tonnes of CO2 by 2025. As a Business Development Manager, you will: Conduct research across the Solar and VO marketplace to identify prospects. Drive self-led lead generation through networking, referrals, social media outreach, LinkedIn/Sales Navigator and other channels. Set up and deliver fact-find discovery meetings (onsite or via Zoom). Manage full sales cycles from initial engagement through presentation and close. Maintain accurate and timely records of all activity in HubSpot CRM. Stay informed on solar, VO and wider industry developments. Maintain strong activity and conversion levels to exceed sales targets. Attend weekly team sales meetings and 1:1 calls with the Sales Manager. Build and nurture long-term customer and partner relationships. Monitor competitor activity and share insights with the team. Engage with trade fairs, exhibitions, workshops, and training events as required. Contribute positively to team culture and support colleagues. Carry out additional duties as requested by Team Leaders or the Managing Director. What Makes a Great BDM for us Success in this role means understanding that this is a technical and consultative sales process. You'll work closely with senior management and the design team to assess installation viability, guide clients through the process, and ensure smooth delivery of every project. In order to be successful in this role you must have: Proven experience as a Business Development Manager Commercial PV experience (minimum 3 years required) Results-driven, target-driven and self-motivated Proficiency with HubSpot CRM (preferred) Knowledge of Solar, VO, and PPA solutions (preferred) Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Friendly, approachable, and a true team player If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role click on APPLY today!
