What you’ll be doing
The compliance lead role has a number of different responsibilities covering a set geography (either a region, or part of a region).
Health & Safety regional lead:
1. Responsible for carrying out and renewing specialist safety (AMS) checks for the regional engineering teams
2. Responsible for completion of corrective actions raised via H&S site auditing in-region.
3. Involvement & support with:
4. Lost Time Incidents (LTIs), near miss/hazard reports including corrective actions, recommendations/best practice sharing.
5. Reporting at a regional level on H&S – Updates/briefings/incidents/regional statistics
ISO Accreditation/Audit support
6. Responsible for the support of site audits relating to ISO 14001/27001/45001 accreditations – including site visits/joint meets & audit preparation.
7. Co-ordination of DL resource and/or third party contractors in preparation for site auditing based on local requirements.
8. Supporting resolution of remedial/corrective works as a result of audit activity.
Site Environment lead/Environmental advisor:
9. Accountable for the completion of all Tier 1/2/3 site environmental checks in-region – through either direct delivery or arranging onsite activity.
10. Completion of all relevant Networks corrective action identified during SEL checks
11. Submission of relevant work orders for cross-LOB corrective actions.
Facilities & building fabric SPOC:
12. Escalation & internal ownership of facilities issues via BT Property/CBRE
13. Collation of patch-specific building fabric & site related safety/environmental issues, tracking of progress, and owning to resolution.
Waste Management:
14. Accountable for regional delivery of all required waste management activities
15. Regional reporting on waste management progress & compliance
16. Best practice/CI approach to delivery of waste management in a challenging operational environment.
17. Engineering Operational Support:
18. Providing analysis/reporting and action plans at a regional/patch level when required for program specific delivery plans. i.e. recovery plans for workstream delivery.
19. Support the regional engineering team with day to day operational requirements; i.e. Tester/Asset management, ad-hoc safety requirements, joint site visits.

Experience Required for the Role
26. Experience of working or managing in an engineering environment.
27. A good working knowledge of Health, Safety, and environmental controls in an engineering environment
28. Technical skills held include Excel, PowerPoint, data interpretation & visualisation, metric & process knowledge, problem solving ability
29. Analytical & Reporting Skills – the role will involve presenting at a regional/patch level, requiring basic analytic/presentation skills.
