The Role
As a Graduate Unqualified Science Teacher, you will become an integral member of the Science department, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of assisting at Key Stage 5 depending on your subject specialism.
Working under the guidance of experienced teachers, you will gradually build confidence in leading lessons while supporting students’ understanding of key scientific concepts.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering engaging science lessons using established schemes of work and lesson resources.
* Supporting students in developing strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics topics.
* Leading small-group intervention sessions to help raise attainment in science subjects.
* Assisting with lesson planning, practical preparation and marking where appropriate.
* Helping students develop effective revision techniques and scientific thinking skills.
* Supporting the management of classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
* Collaborating with the wider Science department to support student progress.
This position offers a structured and supportive pathway into teaching, allowing you to build essential classroom skills while receiving ongoing guidance from experienced educators.
Candidate Profile
