Principal Structural Engineer – Water

Opportunity
Stantec is experiencing significant growth in its water sector and is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer. The role will be based in one of our South offices – London, Reading or High Wycombe – with hybrid office and home working.
Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of high-quality structural engineering projects across multiple sectors
* Partner with UK clients to exceed their technical requirements through project delivery
* Report directly to the Specialist Structural Engineering Technical Lead, developing structural knowledge and supporting opportunities in sectors beyond water and energy
* Carry out structural design for concrete, steel and masonry structures
* Conduct structural inspections and produce accurate reports defining requirements for asset maintenance and modification to meet client and regulatory standards
Qualifications
* Previous structural design experience
* Good knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering and awareness of other engineering disciplines
* Good knowledge of construction, both temporary and permanent, and of the information requirements of construction teams in design & build projects
* Ability to produce accurate inspection reports
* Experience coaching and mentoring others, and a proven record of leading technical capability development
