The Skoll Centre is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager for Research and Insights to lead and shape its research portfolio during a period of maternity cover. As a member of the Skoll Centre’s senior leadership team, the post‑holder may be asked to contribute actively to collective leadership and stewardship of the Centre during the term of the appointment.
The Skoll Centre’s mission is to equip entrepreneurial leaders to drive social impact within and beyond business. We bring together academics, students and practitioners to generate actionable insights on how to lead, organise, finance, measure and scale impact.
You will play a central role in setting the direction of our research portfolio—ensuring it delivers academic excellence, practical relevance and real‑world impact. You will design and deliver research programmes, build and support a global network of researchers and partners, and translate complex research into accessible insights for diverse audiences.
Key responsibilities
* Shape and deliver the Centre’s research strategy alongside the Academic Director and Deputy Director
* Recruit and manage research staff, consultants and assistants
* Design and deliver research initiatives including seminars, fellowships, working groups and publications
* Build and manage relationships with academic and external partners globally
* Produce high‑quality content (reports, blogs, multimedia) translating research insights for varied audiences
You will have strong experience in research communication or knowledge exchange, with the ability to translate complex academic insights for diverse audiences. You will demonstrate excellent project and budget management skills, alongside outstanding communication across a range of formats, from formal reports to digital and multimedia content. The role requires the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders from varied backgrounds, work collaboratively in dynamic, distributed teams and manage a complex workload with strong organisational skills, attention to detail and sound judgement.
