Legal Services Manager
Location: Maidenhead / Newcastle or Manchester.

About the Role
This is a key strategic role, providing expert legal advice across the business and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated sector. You will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, supporting business growth while safeguarding the company’s legal and regulatory position.
Location and Working Pattern
This role supports a flexible hybrid model. Some home working can be combined with office attendance. The head office is in Maidenhead but the role could be based at a regional office. Regular travel within the UK is expected.
Responsibilities
* Provide general commercial/legal advice.
* Prepare, review and support the negotiation of commercial contracts and projects, including PFI/PPP, local authority and commercial customers and suppliers.
* Identify and assess legal and commercial risk.
* Support tenders, acquisitions, and business development activities.
* Provide advice and support on disputes and manage any litigation.
* Manage a small team of lawyers.
* Help ensure compliance with applicable laws and Group policies.
* Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the sector.
Requirements
* Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience.
* Strong background in commercial law; experience in PPP/PFI, environmental, regulatory, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
* Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
* Strong leadership capability, with experience managing and mentoring others.
* Pragmatic, proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
