We are recruiting a reliable and punctual individual with a positive attitude and a passion for the city of Oxford to work with us as a shop manager for the Oxford Tourist Information Centre.

What will you do in this role?
The duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Financial & Sales Administration
* Reviewing monthly sales reports (compare to targets, previous months, and forecast).
* Preparing monthly financial statements (profit & loss, cash flow, expense reports).
* Monitoring and reconciling petty cash and other shop expenditures.
* Coordinating with accounting/bookkeeping to ensure invoices, payroll, and supplier payments are accurate.
* Budgeting & forecasting for the coming month or quarter.
Inventory & Stock Management
* Stock count / cycle counts and reconciliation against system records.
* Reviewing shrinkage/loss reports (theft, damaged goods, expired items).
* Placing larger monthly orders with suppliers and negotiating pricing/terms.
* Reviewing slow-moving products and planning promotions or markdowns.
* Processing payroll and ensuring attendance/leave records are accurate.
* Creating or approving staff schedules for the upcoming month.
* Conducting monthly staff meetings to review performance, targets, and updates.
* Performance reviews / coaching (monthly or quarterly, depending on company).
* Hiring/onboarding if staff turnover occurs.
Compliance & Reporting
* Health and safety checks (fire exits, first aid, cleanliness, accident logs).
* Submitting monthly reports
* Reviewing monthly promotions and campaigns effectiveness.
* Planning next month's marketing activities (seasonal displays, loyalty programs, events)
* Customer feedback
Facility & Operational Oversight
* Checking equipment and maintenance logs (POS system, HVAC, security).
* Vendor contract reviews (cleaning, security, waste removal).
* Ensuring utilities and service bills are paid on time.

Education:
* A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
* Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
