Job description A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and committed Registered Manager to lead a brand-new 4-bed children's home, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This role offers the chance to make a real and lasting impact, helping children and young people build resilience, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment. As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that high standards of care are consistently delivered and that the home operates in full compliance with current regulations and best practice guidance. Benefits for you: * Competitive salary up to £55,800 (including performance-related bonuses) * £3,000 bonus for achieving Outstanding Ofsted * £400 monthly bonus for full occupancy * 25 days’ annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays * £25 on-call (weekday) / £35 on-call (weekend) * Mileage paid for business use * Pension scheme * Opportunity to shape and grow a new service from the ground up Key Responsibilities * Lead the service as Registered Manager, ensuring the care and safeguarding of all children and young people in the home. * Manage, support, and develop a team of staff, ensuring effective supervision, training, and professional development. * Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies to promote positive outcomes for children and young people. * Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and health and safety legislation. * Liaise with external professionals including social workers, local authorities, and education providers. * Monitor the home’s budget, staffing rotas, recruitment, and performance. * Participate in the on-call rota and provide support for sleep-in cover as required. Person Specification * Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy in a residential setting for children and young people. * Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it). * Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice. * Effective leadership, communication, and organisational skills. * Emotional resilience and a child-centred approach to care. * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
