Overview
We’re working with a well-established fire and life safety provider looking to add an experienced Maintenance / Service Engineer to their regional team. This is a field-based role focused on planned and reactive maintenance across a range of commercial and residential sites.
Responsibilities
In this position you will be trusted to manage your own workload while representing the business professionally on‑site. A key part of the role is ensuring that fire and life safety systems remain fully operational, compliant and maintained to the required standards.
Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems, carrying out routine inspections, fault‑finding and completing any necessary remedial works. You will also be responsible for completing detailed service reports and compliance documentation following visits. The role will involve liaising with clients, site teams and internal support staff to ensure works are completed efficiently and to a high standard. While the role is primarily regional, occasional travel into London may be required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a service or maintenance role, with a strong background in fire alarm systems. Experience working with emergency lighting and/or smoke ventilation systems would be highly beneficial. A solid understanding of British Standards and compliance requirements is important, along with the ability to work independently and manage your own daily schedule. A full UK driving licence is required for the role.
Benefits
In return, the company offers a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, along with a company vehicle, tools and equipment required to carry out the role. There are opportunities for overtime, and the position offers long‑term stability with genuine progression potential. You will also benefit from supportive management and realistic workloads designed to allow engineers to perform their role effectively and safely.
