The role
As an Operational Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring maintenance workloads are planned, resourced, and delivered effectively. Using enterprise planning systems and supporting tools, you’ll help translate operational demand into robust, achievable plans while identifying risks, constraints, and dependencies. You’ll work closely with Operations and support functions to protect delivery performance, manage capacity, and provide clear management information to support decision‑making.
Day-to-day responsibilities
* Planning Maintenance, Repair, and Operations workloads using ERP systems and associated planning tools.
* Assessing capacity, skills, materials, facilities, tooling, and work‑centre productivity to create achievable plans.
* Identifying risks, dependencies, and constraints, and communicating impacts to key stakeholders.
* Producing accurate management information on scenarios, status, and performance.
* Ensuring planning data, material assessments, and job pack documentation are completed accurately and on time.
* Building strong working relationships with Operations and support teams to enable successful delivery.
This is a full‑time, fixed‑term role for 10 months, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Essential experience
* Experience using an ERP system for scheduling or operational planning.
* Experience working with and analysing large volumes of data.
* Understanding of the planning cycle within a Maintenance, Repair, and Operations environment.
* Experience creating or working with performance metrics and management information.
Qualifications
Educated to Level 3 or equivalent (such as an advanced apprenticeship, NVQ, A‑level, IB Diploma or equivalent workplace experience).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
