Senior Design Engineer Electrical role at Ipsum, based in Bromsgrove, England, United Kingdom.
Major projects typically consist of electrical and civil designs for ICP connections from 33kV to 132kV, private networks from 11kV to 132kV, renewable energy projects and balance of plant. Typical project value £1M-£15M. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer you will be responsible for all aspects of the design phase of multiple Major projects.
Responsibilities
Engage with Tendering and Construction teams to offer support on technical queries and facilitate handover through the client journey, and represent Ipsum Power Ltd when required at customers and other third-party meetings. Identify and communicate commercial opportunities and attend sites as required. Assist in mapping and defining design processes and deliver the design phase of projects up to 400kV with appropriate use of specialist contractors. A good level of understanding and knowledge of the Renewables and Power Distribution/Transmission industry is required for this role.
About You
Level 5 Qualification in either electrical or Civil Engineering with Membership of a professional body, or Incorporated Engineer or Chartership. Due to the seniority of the role we require proven experience in an Electrical Design role within the Electricity, Power Distribution systems, or Renewables industry. You will be responsible for managing the design phase of projects from tender through to construction. A good level of knowledge of AutoCAD (or similar) and programs such as CDEGS, IPSA, PowerFactory, and SolidWorks. Knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation and technical advances within the scope of the specialism (e.g. General: HASAWA, NRSWA, COSHH, CDM; Electrical: P28, G5/5, G99; Civil design standards) is required.
