Knitwear Designer – High Street Fashion Location: West London Type: Full-time, Permanent office based Salary: to £38k bens dependent on experience An established West London–based high street clothing manufacturer is seeking a talented and commercially-minded Knitwear Designer to join their growing creative team and cover womenswear and girlswear product. Supplying to a wide range of leading UK and European high street retailers, our client is known for delivering on-trend, high-quality knitwear collections that balance creativity with commercial appeal. The Role: As a Knitwear Designer, you will join a knitwear team of three within a larger design department working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in designing knitwear ranges across multiple high street accounts, working closely with buyers and merchandisers both in the UK and Europe to deliver successful seasonal collections. Key Responsibilities: Researching and identifying emerging trends, yarns, and colour palettes relevant to the high street market Designing innovative yet commercial knitwear collections tailored to specific retailer profiles Creating detailed CADs, mood boards, and presentation packs for buyer meetings Liaising with UK and overseas factories to develop samples and new techniques Working closely with buyers, presenting ranges, and responding to design briefs Supporting the senior design team in managing development from concept through to production handover Skills & Experience that is needed to be shortlisted : Proven and recent experience designing womenswear knitwear for UK or European high street retailers ( we are not looking Junior but the next level ) Excellent trend awareness and understanding of high street customer profiles Strong CAD skills, proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop Good technical knowledge of knitwear construction, yarns, and gauges Confident communicator with experience presenting to buyers Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects across different accounts Commutable to West London and eligible top work in the UK What’s on Offer: Opportunity to design for a range of leading high street retailers in the UK and Europe Creative, supportive team environment with room for development Competitive salary West London location with great transport links Great opportunity for a knitwear designer looking to grow and focus on high street product knitwear womenswear girlswear westlondon fashiondesign hiring recruiting dobsonwelch dominicbarclay
