We're looking for an experienced hard landscaper who takes pride in quality workmanship and can work independently on domestic and commercial landscaping projects across the Lancaster area.
This isn't a labouring role - we need someone with proven hard landscaping skills who can handle projects from groundworks through to completion without constant supervision.
What You'll Be Doing
Core hard landscaping work:
* Brickwork and blockwork (walls, pillars, edging)
* Paving and driveway installation (natural stone, block paving, resin-bound)
* Fencing (panel, closeboard, post and rail)
* Groundworks and foundations
* Drainage and sub-base preparation
* Working to technical drawings and specifications
Additional responsibilities:
* Operating machinery including mini excavators and compaction equipment
* Setting out and levelling to exact specifications
* Quality control - your work represents our reputation
* Problem-solving on-site when issues arise
You'll work as part of a small, skilled team on varied projects.
What You Need
Essential - please don't apply without these:
* Minimum 2 years proven experience in hard landscaping, groundworks, or construction (domestic or commercial)
* Full UK driving licence acceptable to our insurers (clean licence preferred)
* Competent in at least 2 of the following: brickwork, paving, fencing, or groundworks
* Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site
* Physically fit - this is demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions
* Professional attitude when working at customers' properties
Highly desirable:
* Mini excavator or plant machinery experience (we'll train the right person)
* Experience reading technical drawings
* Ability to lead and supervise a small team
* CSCS card (not essential but beneficial)
Deal-breakers - this role is NOT suitable if:
* You only have general labouring experience with no specific hard landscaping skills
* You don't have a full driving licence
* You can't reliably commute to Lancaster area (LA2) daily
* You're only looking for summer/seasonal work
