Futures working with a rapidly growing manufacturing business based in the West Yorkshire region. Following a sustained period of growth and continued investment, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Manager to lead and develop its environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda. This is a key role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape and embed sustainability and corporate social responsibility strategies across the business while working closely with senior stakeholders. As Environmental and Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and continuously improving the company’s environmental, social and governance frameworks. You will play a central role in ensuring the business meets its sustainability objectives, complies with relevant standards and demonstrates a clear commitment to responsible and ethical operations. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain robust CSR and ESG frameworks, policies and procedures aligned with business objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across environmental, social and governance areas, embedding best practice throughout the organisation. Identify opportunities for process and system improvements to enhance sustainability performance and operational efficiency. Lead the development and delivery of carbon reduction plans, using responsible, innovative and commercially viable approaches. Manage relationships with external carbon auditors, supporting the measurement, verification and reduction of carbon emissions. Produce annual sustainability and ESG reports to a high standard for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation, standards and sustainability accreditations. Work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, influencing and engaging at all levels of the business. Prepare and deliver clear, engaging presentations on sustainability performance, strategy and progress. Proven experience in an environmental, sustainability or ESG-focused role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong understanding of ESG, CSR and sustainability frameworks, including carbon reporting and reduction methodologies. Demonstrable track record of contributing to or delivering carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives. Knowledge of relevant sustainability standards, certifications and accreditations. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively. Confident presenter with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally. Proactive, analytical and improvement-focused mindset.
