Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulatory Officer - Field Based - 31634
We are recruiting for a Regulatory Officer to join the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) team within Batteries, WEEE and Shipments, part of Environmental Markets and Regulation. This is a field-based role with officers located across England. National travel and overnight stays will be required.
The role involves regulating a range of businesses that operate within the Producer Responsibility regime to ensure producers, reprocessors and exporters of waste comply with their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Undertake audits (on site and virtual)
* Take appropriate enforcement action when necessary
* Disrupt non-compliance
* Collate and analyse complex data to support evidence-based regulatory decisions
* Handle confidential and sensitive information in line with data protection guidelines
* Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures
* The role is varied, vital and challenging and requires the ability to work as part of a dispersed team while remaining self-motivated and disciplined
Experience and skills
We are looking for people with a range of experience who can demonstrate the capabilities and interpersonal skills needed for the role. Waste industry or regulatory experience is not necessary as you will receive full training. We welcome candidates who enjoy working both outdoors and in an office environment. Demonstrating the right behaviours is important. You should be able to show that you are:
