Axcis Education is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in an alternative provision on the Wirral. This site caters to secondary-aged pupils with SEND, including SEMH, challenging behaviour, ADHD, and other additional needs.
The role is suitable for candidates with a background in youth work or previous experience as a SEND TA, given the needs of the pupils. Responsibilities include supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1-1 basis or in small groups, and assisting the class teacher as required.
The pupils are no longer in mainstream education, aiming to help them re-engage with their learning. They may have social, emotional, and mental health needs stemming from challenging home lives, trauma, addiction, or other issues. Challenging behaviour may also be present.
Applicants must have prior experience working with SEND children or adults, whether in educational settings or other environments like residential support. Reliability and resilience are essential qualities, and the school is open to candidates with limited school-based experience if they possess the right SEND knowledge and fit well with the school environment.
If interested, please click the apply button and contact Isabel Headen-Morris at 0151 459 9299, Ext: 3011.
If you know someone suitable for this role, remember we offer £50 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend who is successfully placed.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated. Axcis is an equal opportunities employer committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must provide an up-to-date DBS or consent to process one on your behalf, along with other compliance checks per DfE guidelines.
Axcis Education offers temporary supply work and permanent positions. Candidates should be qualified for the role and prepared for a face-to-face interview. Salary depends on skills and experience.
