We are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join our Services Division team in Sutton-in-Ashfield. In this role, you will lead the workshop in delivering high-quality overhaul, repair, installation, and commissioning services for a wide range of rotating equipment. Our Sutton-in-Ashfield facility is a key service partner to the rail sector, trusted to overhaul and maintain traction motors, alternators, and other essential rail components, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of fleets across the UK. You will supervise a skilled engineering team, uphold safety and quality standards, and maintain excellent relationships with our customers.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, plan, organise, and delegate work to your designated workshop team.
2. Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and optimal work execution advice for complex activities.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with rail and other sector clients, including providing clear progress updates.
4. Oversee inspections, strip downs, repairs, rebuilds, testing, and final inspections for a variety of rotating equipment.
5. Ensure compliance with quality control, EHS standards, and company reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
* Recognised Electro-Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent) with valid certification.
* Extensive hands-on experience with rotating equipment, including motors, generators, pumps, gearboxes, and associated systems.
* Proven track record in supervising and managing multi-skilled engineering teams.
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, including root cause analysis (RCA).
* Competence in using MS Office and producing clear, accurate, and detailed technical reports.
