The role:
Sorted and organised incoming parcels, freight, and large household appliances accurately and efficiently according to designated routes and destinations.
Safely handled, moved, and lifted heavy white goods, including refrigerators, washing machines, cookers, and other large appliances, in accordance with manual handling procedures.
Operated conveyor belts, handheld scanners, pallet trucks, and other warehouse equipment to support the efficient movement and sorting of goods.
Ensured accurate labelling, scanning, and categorisation of parcels and bulky items to minimise errors and maintain operational efficiency.
Assisted with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, securing freight and maximising vehicle space utilisation for safe transportation.
Worked collaboratively with colleagues to maintain productivity, meet operational targets, and ensure the timely dispatch of goods.
Identified damaged parcels or appliances and followed established procedures for reporting, documentation, and safe handling.
Maintained a clean, organised, and safe working environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Followed company policies, security procedures, and manual handling guidelines within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution setting.
Demonstrated physical fitness, reliability, and attention to detail while handling high volumes of parcels and heavy goods throughout each shift.
Requirements:
Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or parcel sorting is preferred but not required.
Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift packages of varying weights.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting and labelling of parcels.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Team player with excellent communication skills.
Flexibility to work night shifts and occasional overtime as needed.
Reliable transportation to and from the warehouse location. xsngvjr
