Lead and coordinate system‑level reliability and safety analyses, integrating inputs from internal engineering teams and external partners into cohesive, defensible reliability assessments that support certification, program execution, and customer commitments. Develop, tailor, and execute reliability predictions and advanced analytical models to support Reliability and Availability guarantees, helping quantify operational risk, forecast failure and repair activity, and inform proposal and warranty strategies. Perform and oversee a full range of reliability and safety analyses, including: Reliability Prediction Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA) Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) Flight Safety Probability of Loss of Control (PLOC) Analysis System Safety & Safety Hazard Analysis (SHA) Common Mode Analysis (CMA) Physics of Failure (PoF) assessments Built‑In‑Test (BIT) coverage and system health monitoring architecture development Act as the reliability engineering lead on programs involving system‑level integration of complex hardware, such as motor control electronics, flight control computers, and linear/rotary electromechanical or hydraulic actuation systems. Evaluate reliability and safety requirements to recommend technical strategies, assumptions, ground rules, exceptions, and caveats that ensure compliance while reducing contractual and program risk—particularly in fixed‑price or performance‑guaranteed programs. Define, evaluate, and recommend reliability test strategies, including Reliability Development Growth Testing (RDGT) and other qualification or demonstration approaches, working closely with Environmental and Test Engineering teams to ensure cost‑effective and meaningful results. Develop and refine predictive reliability models —including customized or novel analytical approaches—to forecast field performance, reliability growth, spares demand, repair volumes, and long‑term support implications. Support Moog’s proposal and business‑capture activities by providing statistical forecasts and documented assumptions that inform pricing, spares inventory, test equipment needs, facilities planning, and lifecycle cost exposure. Serve as a trusted technical advisor to design, systems, quality, environmental test, program management, and supply chain teams, ensuring reliability considerations are embedded early and consistently throughout the product lifecycle. Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior reliability engineers and, where required, support component engineering activities such as component selection, obsolescence management, and technical risk evaluation. Engage directly with customers, certification authorities, and external partners, presenting reliability methodologies, analyses, trade studies, and program risk positions with clarity and technical credibility. To be considered for the Senior Reliability Engineer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline. 5 years of experience in a Reliability Engineering role supporting complex, safety‑critical systems.
