Business Development Executive - Payments / e-Commerce
* UK or EU Remote
* £45-60k base + comm + benefits
We’re hiring a Business Development Executive for a fast-growing payments company operating in complex, high-growth e-Commerce environments. This role is relationship-led and community-driven, not call-centre or high volume outbound. You’ll work with merchants navigating real payments challenges: Shopify bans, Stripe or PSP shutdowns, high-risk and subscription payments processing issues, and build trusted relationships with these merchants.
What you’ll be doing:
* Build commercial relationships with eCommerce merchants, founders, and partners & develop leads to pass to our AE team
* Engage prospects via X, Reddit, Telegram, Discord, forums, events and industry communities
* Identify and qualify sales opportunities within merchants facing payments friction and risk-related issues
* Act as a credible first point of contact, with clean handovers to senior commercial stakeholders
* Stay close to trends across eCommerce, subscriptions, affiliates, and high-risk verticals
What we’re looking for (non-negotiable):
* 2+ years in a growth, commercial, partnerships, or sales role within payments / fintech / eCommerce
* Strong understanding of eCommerce & payments pain points (Shopify bans, Stripe or PSP shutdowns, high-risk, subscriptions)
* Community-led mindset and confidence building relationships online
* Commercially curious, proactive, and comfortable in fast-moving scale-ups
* Bonus points - existing network in payments or eCommerce / active in industry communities or attending events
