Offer description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time Clinical Educator to join HMT's Learning & Development team, based primarily at St Hugh's Hospital in Grimsby. You'll play a central role in shaping and delivering education and training that makes a real difference to the quality of care our patients and residents receive. We are keen to continue the development of our L&D function, and we're looking for someone who wants to help shape what that looks like, bringing professional expertise and real enthusiasm for developing people.

The successful candidate will draw on your clinical background and education expertise to identify learning needs, design and deliver evidence-based programmes, and support staff across HMT to be the best they can be.

We are advertising this role as approximately three days per week however we are keen to explore flexible options for the right candidate. If you're interested but unsure whether your availability or working pattern fits, we'd encourage you to apply or reach out for an informal conversation as we're happy to discuss hours, days and working arrangements with the right candidate. What matters most to us is finding someone with the right skills, experience and passion for the role!

The role is based primarily at St Hugh's Hospital in Grimsby, however travel to other HMT sites may be required from time to time to support the development of clinical skills and education across the wider portfolio.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span the full breadth of clinical education and workforce development, including:

* Designing and delivering high-quality, evidence-based training across clinical and non-clinical disciplines
* Developing educational materials for face-to-face, online and blended delivery, ensuring content remains current, regulatory-compliant and fit for purpose
* Owning HMT's statutory and mandatory training compliance, aligned to the L&D strategy and training matrix
* Supporting student placements, assessments and preceptorship, and developing the in-house Train the Trainer programme
* Acting as a professional guide and subject matter expert for managers and Heads of Department
* Maintaining training records and producing management reports on compliance KPIs
* Collaborating with colleagues across the L&D function to share knowledge and contribute to the continued growth of the team
* Building relationships with universities, colleges, NHS networks and the PIVO sector to enhance HMT's profile and access development funding

Qualifications

* Current NMC or HCPC registration
* Minimum two years' post-registration experience, ideally in an acute setting
* ILS qualification, or willingness to undertake immediately upon appointment
* Full, valid driving licence — travel to other HMT sites will be required
* Experience of teaching and creating effective learning environments
* Experience of designing and developing educational materials for face-to-face, online and blended delivery
* Knowledge of statutory and mandatory training requirements within a health or social care setting
* Knowledge of CQC inspection frameworks and evidence requirements in relation to workforce training and competency
* Demonstrable ability to work autonomously, manage a varied workload and exercise sound professional judgement without close supervision
