Overview

The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service to patients. They will ensure that streamlined administrative processes are implemented and followed which are focused on the patient and their individual needs. The Senior Patient Administrator will provide effective and efficient administrative support to the operational team. The successful candidate will also provide an administrative service in relation to matters relating to compliance with CERNER (Patient Administration System), data quality issues related to 18 week targets, cancer two week waits and using initiative to find out answers to queries.


Responsibilities

* Provide administrative support to the operational team and maintain efficient administrative systems focused on patient care.
* Assist with compliance-related tasks for CERNER (Patient Administration System) and address data quality issues related to 18 week targets and cancer two week waits; use initiative to resolve queries.
* Assist in maintenance of the junior doctor rota, input shifts, cancellations and swaps; record gaps on Patchwork; manage consultant leave on Healthroster.
* Support the Junior Service Manager (JSM) in maximizing the use of clinical and non-clinical resources.
* Resolve training-related issues, generate Cerner-related reports on request, and monitor division indicators to address backlogs.
* Communicate with clinical and non-clinical staff regarding CERNER issues; provide timely, polite, professional and confidential responses; escalate as appropriate.
* Provide support to JSMs for junior doctor rota maintenance; submit shifts for bank staff onto Patchwork; ensure preparation and availability of rota information.
* Organise and prioritise workload with minimal supervision; participate in regular team meetings and relevant meetings (eg Patient Access) with preparation of Access pack.
* Assist with clinic configurations on CERNER, including cancellations and amendments for annual leave.
* Proactively manage patient pathways to ensure high standards of service delivery and use initiative when addressing patient problems or requests from managers and consultants.
* Assist with new staff induction and organise ID, training access, and related onboarding tasks.
* Suggest improvements to systems and measure the effectiveness of changes; collect data to measure departmental performance against objectives.
* Liaise with other departments and teams relating to the patient care pathway and service delivery.
* Ensure all inquiries are dealt with in a timely, polite, professional and confidential manner, taking action or escalating as appropriate.
* Organise and prioritise workload related to the role with minimal supervision.
