Manufacturing Process Planner
to be based at our customer's site in Solihull
.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
The Role:
The team are responsible for the development, introduction and launch of all new / modified processes & facilities associated with new model introductions and model year changes, within Bodyshop assembly facility.
The team is developing to support all future West Midlands Bodyshop developments for the future range of vehicles. The Project Planner will be responsible for developing new, technologically advanced Bodyshop assembly facilities that are currently under design and manufacture to support BIW initiatives.
You will be a key part of the BIW Delivery team, working closely with Product Development Engineers, Facility & Tooling vendors and Production Operations team to ensure that Bodyshop facility delivers to meet world class quality and efficiency standards. GME BIW Delivery are on a journey, and we are looking for individuals who can bring experience to take us to the next level of futuristic / innovative Bodyshop's
Area of Responsibility
•
Mange timing plans during launch to deliver the Safety, Quality, Timing and Cost objectives
•
Own the master schedule for all key launch milestones, seeking regular inputs from dimensional, joining standards & controls team
•
Lead the creation of day-by-day plan during each build phased working closed with launch teams external to BIW and maintain the build plan
•
Prepare, issue and evaluate supplier "Request for Quotations."
•
Value for money checks after RFQ submission in alongside seeking spend approvals
•
Manage free issue commodity procurement to delivery
•
Work closely with process engineers to understand commissioning risks and come up with mitigation actions
•
Lead daily start ups, NEPT, level 2 management session during launch
•
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
Knowledge / Experience
•
Experience in delivering and launching BIW assembly line facilities including:
•
Strong program management skills
•
Microsoft Project or alternatively (but not essential) experience of P6.
•
Strong complex problem-solving skills & investigation of quality issues, manual station over cycles, effective reporting and stakeholder management.
•
Project management Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above, preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or Mech/Elec combined) and/or suitable engineering experience in BIW manufacturing
•
Proficient computer skills, conversant with Microsoft applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Catia
•
Candidates should be self-motivated with sound business behaviours and communication skills.
•
Willingness to learn and continue to learn as the business environment evolves.
•
Ability to travel to Midland's locations by car
•
Team player who can communicate and challenge with all levels of the organisation.
•
Ability to work within cross-functional teams and take task ownership to deliver results.
•
Flexible approach to work with willingness to work additional hours or weekends and support during peak shutdown windows.
•
Ability to plan & prioritise workstreams to deliver objectives effectively
•
Be customer focused and have awareness business need
•
Must be able to form good working relationships at all levels and areas within internal and external organisations
