UK-based Independent Contractor / Consultancy Engagement | Remote | Project-Based
Pay Rate: Starting at 40 GBP per hour
Reverba Global is looking to engage an experienced Senior Medical Writer to support the development of high-quality scientific and medical communications for our global healthcare clients. This is an independent contractor consultancy opportunity for a UK-based writer who brings scientific depth, strategic thinking, and a talent for transforming complex data into clear, compelling content.
In this role, you will partner with our Scientific Partners, account, creative, strategy, editorial, and review teams to deliver accurate, engaging, and compliant scientific materials across a range of therapeutic areas. You will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful communications that help healthcare professionals, patients, and other audiences better understand science, treatment landscapes, and emerging data.
This engagement is project-based and governed by an independent contractor agreement and, where applicable, a statement of work or project assignment. It is not an employment, worker, salaried, or full-time position.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Medical Writer, you will provide independent medical writing and scientific communications services, including:
Scientific Content Development
You will research, draft, and refine medical communications deliverables such as slide decks, meeting reports, summaries, manuscripts, digital content, and related scientific materials. You will translate complex scientific and clinical information into content that is accurate, accessible, audience-appropriate, and engaging.
Data Interpretation and Storytelling
You will critically evaluate literature, clinical data, and scientific sources to ensure content is credible, well-supported, and strategically aligned. You will also help bring data to life through structured narratives, visual thinking, graphics, and clear scientific storytelling.
Therapeutic Area Expertise
You will build and apply knowledge across relevant therapeutic areas, including disease states, treatment landscapes, emerging evidence, client priorities, and communication objectives.
Project Ownership
You will take responsibility for assigned deliverables, timelines, review cycles, and quality expectations. You will manage agreed milestones, flag risks or scope changes early, and help ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Client and Team Collaboration
You will participate in client calls and project meetings as needed, providing scientific input and representing Reverba professionally. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams while retaining responsibility for how you plan, sequence, and deliver your services within agreed deadlines and requirements.
Quality, Compliance, and Confidentiality
You will ensure work aligns with applicable agency standards, client requirements, style guides, and relevant compliance, regulatory, legal, medical review, data protection, and information security expectations.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome interest from experienced UK-based independent contractors who bring:
* An advanced degree in a scientific or medical discipline, such as a PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc, or equivalent experience
* Typically 3–5+ years of experience in medical communications, medical writing, scientific communications, or a related environment
* Strong ability to interpret scientific literature, clinical studies, and complex medical information
* Excellent writing, editing, structuring, and storytelling skills
* Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, global drug development, and applicable compliance and review expectations
* Confidence creating deliverables for different audiences, formats, and therapeutic areas
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise across multiple projects and deadlines
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Word, templates, graphics, and content development workflows
* A collaborative, professional, self-directed working style
* Ability to provide services remotely from the United Kingdom and join meetings across applicable time zones when reasonably required
