Responsibilities
* Supervise team members in duties and performance, provide feedback, and report team strengths and weaknesses to management.
* Motivate, guide, and mentor team members to exceed goals and create a positive environment during shifts.
* Train new team members in company standards, customer service, and job duties.
* Work with other supervisors and management to set and evaluate stock, logistics, projects, and overall goals.
* Driving Results: Clearly communicate with and direct the team to ensure all tasks are delivered; drive business initiatives and support the team to deliver targets (e.g., email capture).
* Support Managers to achieve all targets and build relationships across the business to share best practice.
* Commercial Flair: Make commercial decisions to improve business performance; ensure store standards meet company expectations and that the shopping experience is right for customers; use business reports to identify risks and opportunities; stay aware of competitor activity to maintain a step ahead.
* Ensure stock availability and escalate any issues preventing stock being available to customers.
* Developing the Best: Take ownership of personal development, support the Manager in recruiting and coaching new team members, and help foster a wellbeing-focused, rewarding culture.
* Adapt your style to fit the needs of the team and consider how actions affect individuals.
* Operations: Spot potential risks and escalate to a Manager; take accountability for Health & Safety; support the operational running of the store and act as a key holder; understand stock-loss and markdown implications and help control them.
* Future Focus: Plan day-to-day and weeks ahead, ensuring the team is aligned with upcoming events, stock takes, layout changes, and promotional activity; embrace new technology and multichannel initiatives to improve the shopping experience.
Qualifications
* Ideally have worked within a supervisory or management role in a customer-facing environment
* Retail exposure beneficial
* Ability to thrive in a sales-targeted environment
