Offer description

Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and outstanding HR and Administration Officer to join the school’s support staff team. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good ICT skills with attention to detail and be able to handle sensitive matters with discretion. The role is Scale 5, points 13-17, £28,163 pro rata (actual starting salary £24,398). 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only).

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dynamic professional to join our well established and highly successful team. Varndean School is an 11-16 school with around 1500 students, set in a picturesque south coast location in the vibrant and diverse city of Brighton and Hove. Varndean is a Good (Ofsted 2022) and well established school already, we have made rapid progress over the past couple of years and have no intention of resting on our laurels. The potential here is immense and the successful applicant will play a role in supporting our students to develop World Class Learning. Varndean is an excellent place to work. Ofsted in 2022 described the “inspirational leaders”, the “expert” teachers, “impressive” pupils and the “exceptionally strong” staff training.
