Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist – TipTopJob
Location: Warrington, Cheshire, United Kingdom
We are looking for a committed Forensic or General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Warrington, Cheshire area. The role will be based in a special hospital service providing care and treatment for adult women in medium, low secure, and psychiatric intensive care (PICU) environments, who have Personality Disorder and mental health conditions.
Full GMC Registration required.
Key Responsibilities
* Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and development of a therapeutic milieu.
* Serve as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
* Offer a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to assessment, formulation and treatment of patients.
* Contribute to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services, and help develop service strategy.
* Provide in-house training programmes and supervision to other team members, particularly junior medical staff.
* Maintain CPD and revalidation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other statutory bodies.
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Innovative and imaginative with the ability to initiate corporate decisions.
* Strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health.
* Substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, contemporary mental health issues, and purchaser/provider contractual issues.
* Previous consultant experience in a management role.
