Job Title: Housing Register Officer Location of work: Hybrid role – some time in Town Hall/working from home/in the community conducting visits Salary: £28,725 - £33,498 (£14,362.50 – £16,749 pro rata) per annum, dependant on experience Basis: Permanent – Part time (18 hours per week) About the Role In this exciting and rewarding role you will join the team responsible for the daily running of the Council’s housing register and Choice Based Lettings system. You will help assess the eligibility of households for social housing and make nominations to available accommodation in line with our Housing Register and Allocations Policy. You will also be responsible for dealing with general housing enquiries from customers and may be required to conduct home visits and attend professional meetings regarding households on the register. About the Person The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: • Excellent oral and written communication skills; • Excellent interpersonal skills; • A commitment to high standards of customer care; • An ability to adopt a methodical and meticulous approach; • Strong IT skills including a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and a preferred knowledge of Locata or similar choice based letting system • Proven recent experience of working in housing allocations, either for a Local Authority or a Registered Social Landlord; • Experience of liaising with statutory, non-statutory and voluntary agencies; Staff Benefits In exchange for your expertise, experience, and enthusiasm, we will offer support in continuing your personal and career development, in addition to providing a wide range of employment linked benefits.
