Description
FS’ Political Risk & Structured Credit team is a recognised market leader within the Political Risk and Credit market. Based in London, NY and Singapore, the team is responsible for servicing WTW’s global network & clients including corporates, export credit agencies, traders and financial institutions (banks and funds) among others. The team has extensive experience structuring large complex placements to enhance clients’ abilities to invest, operate and trade in a portfolio of challenging countries.
Our book of business has a global footprint, offering complex solutions to all clients across industry sectors including Renewable Power, Manufacturing, Defence, Aviation, Technology and Oil and Gas and Natural Resources. We also focus on other niche sectors. We encourage all brokers to be involved across the whole portfolio rather than to fully specialize on one particular product or client type. This in turn promotes growth, development and elevated career paths.
Some Of Your Key Responsibilities Will Involve
* Broking
o Execute placements from Non-Binding Indication to confirmation of cover for a large variety of deals
o Binding transactions for clients across multiple products including Political Risk, Comprehensive Non Payment (Contract Frustration/Credit) and Pre & Post Shipment
* Client/Network Engagement
o General support to clients by email, telephone and face to face meetings as required;
o Putting together market submissions and understanding clients’ needs, and summarising market feedback accordingly;
o Developing new and existing clients, guiding them through the process from initial meetings and engagements to binding first policies;
o Structuring solutions for clients trading and investing in both OECD and developing economies;
o Preparation for market presentations to ensure client’s requirements best presented;
o Work with multiple stakeholders on projects within FS as and when appropriate.
* Operational / Portfolio Management
o Slips, endorsements and processing (new policies and regular endorsements);
o Updating the relevant monitoring tools/spreadsheets (premium/brokerage);
o Working with the accounts team to ensure timely production of invoices;
o Assisting with claims as and when required;
o Responsible for working in accordance with the WTW Client Excellence Model, and compliance with the WTW policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
Reporting
The role will be reporting to Senior Director, Credit and Political Risks.
Qualifications
* Eagerness willingness to learn
* Role would suit someone who prefers working in a high performing team environment rather than as an individual contributer.
* Understanding of insurance market dynamics and core processes;
* Develop/Establish relationships with underwriters, both Lloyd’s and company markets;
* Exposure to wording negotiations;
* Effective communication and presentation skills;
* Experience of managing effective client relationships;
* Ability to interpret and use data optimally;
* Good understanding of compliance and applicable regulation;
* Highly organised and attention to detail;
* Good use of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word;
* Foreign language(s) a plus but not a must.
