Job Description: Quantity SurveyorLocation: Belfast Salary £45,000 - £55,000On behalf of my client, I am recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work on an ongoing project for a highly successful and renowned Construction Company based in Belfast.Reporting to the Commercial Director your key responsibilities may vary depending on the nature and stage of the project being worked on, but can include: -Main Duties Pre ContractOn Site pre-measurementsProduction of bills of quantities and/or MTC cost plans for clientsDevelopment of supply chain packagesProduction of labour schedules for operations teamSpecialist material procurementPost ContractProcurement and appointment of subcontractors on designated subcontract conditionsPreparation of the forecasting and reporting of costs against value to ensure that it is in line with the contract profitability forecastMeasurement, preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts in line with the contract schedule of ratesAdministration, auditing and analysis of subcontractor accounts along with effective commercial controlIdentification of added value opportunities within measurement and contract conditionsPrepare subcontractor payments accurately and in a timely mannerYou will be responsible for keeping the Commercial Manager informed of the progress of all accounts from inception through to finalisationWork in accordance with strict client KPI’s, in particular time, cost and qualityGenerate any early warning notices and compensation events to the client if required and keep the Commercial Manager informed at all stagesOther duties may be required from time to time depending on the needs of the businessEssential CriteriaHave relevant Quantity Surveying experience within a Construction or Facilities Management environmentPossess either a Third Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying or demonstrate a level of experience obtained working in a comparable roleDemonstrate the ability to develop a strong client and supply chain relationship by working in a collaborative mannerPossess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Information Technology in generalValid driving licenseDesirable CriteriaHave knowledge of construction practices that can be used on site to analyse the design and propose potential cost saving and value engineering measuresExperience of working on MTC contractsExperience of using the Mechanical PSA/National Schedule of RatesExperience of QS software such as BarcellosCandidates with 4+ years of QS experience will be considered for this role
