Role Overview
Senior Licensing Officer - Enforcement is a key member of the Licensing Services team, responsible for responding to complaints, carrying out compliance visits, taking witness statements and preparing cases for court. This role is essential to the delivery of the Council's statutory duties.
Key responsibilities
* Respond to complaints regarding licensing.
* Carry out compliance visits to venues.
* Take witness statements.
* Prepare cases for court proceedings.
* Build relationships with licence holders and partners, including Merseyside Police.
Training and development
Experience in licensing is not essential. Successful candidates will receive training and the opportunity to study for the Level 4 Apprenticeship Regulatory Compliance Officer. The Council provides on‑job coaching and access to an in‑house training hub, with further development opportunities for managers.
Qualifications & Experience
Preference given to candidates with prior experience in licensing or enforcement, although experience is not essential.
