Holy Rood is a Catholic secondary school with a roll of 1170 pupils, situated in the conservation village of Duddingston, east of Holy Rood Park. The school serves a diverse catchment area, attracting pupils from 28 different primary schools due to parental choice.

Application Process and Requirements
1. Teachers require approval from the Bishop of the Diocese for appointment to Catholic schools. Details are available at sces.org.uk/church-approval.
2. Salaries follow the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
3. This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Scheme. The preferred candidate must join or update their PVG Scheme membership. If the candidate has spent 3 or more months outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check is required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory checks.
