This is a high-responsibility, safety-critical role within a real-time operational environment, supporting traincrew, managing disruption, coordinating service delivery and providing essential frontline operational cover when required. Full Shunter and/or Depot Driver competence (essential) This is required for operational coverage and safety. Candidates without this competence cannot be considered. Ability to travel nationwide as required Flexibility to work a roster including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays Key Responsibilities Deliver safe and efficient delivery of the train plan across rostered shifts Manage traincrew resources and adjust plans during service disruption Communicate clearly with traincrew, operational staff, suppliers and customers Maintain accurate operational logs and safety incident reporting Issue timings, notices and documentation to relevant staff Support the operational response to incidents, faults, accidents and environmental issues Maintain required route, traction and rules competence Prepare trains to a high safety and operational standard, escalating risks appropriately Provide cover for Operations Supervisor and Depot Driver duties when required Support delay minimisation and continuous improvement within the Control function About You Experience in a rail operations or control room environment Full Shunter or Depot Driver competence (essential) Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills High attention to detail and strong safety awareness Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational setting Committed to professional standards, performance and safety Apply Now This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress within a national rail operations environment while gaining unique operational experience and responsibility.
