About ARU

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

About The Role

Based at our East Road campus in Cambridge, this role will provide key administrative support to postgraduate research students and their supervisors within the Faculty, ensuring that an excellent student experience is offered at all stages of the student lifecycle at ARU, from Welcome Week through to graduation. Supporting the Faculty Director of Research Students and working closely with the Faculty Administration Manager, you will have the opportunity to enhance and define the academic processes that underpin student outcomes, demonstrating your commitment to achieving an outstanding contribution to the Faculty's activity.

With a degree or with significant experience of delivering and refining administrative processes, ideally within an education environment, you'll be well versed in the interpretation of written policy and procedure and the translation of that understanding into effective delivery. You'll take a proactive approach, informed by a desire to deliver great results and seeking wherever possible to refine and improve ways of working in order to underpin a continuous improvement in your own, and the Faculty's effectiveness. You'll have a fine attention to detail and be well-versed in the use of all Microsoft applications to underpin work that will be a blend of in-person and remote interactions.
