Environment, Health & Safety Manager
Are you an experienced Environment, Health & Safety professional from a manufacturing background looking for a role with real influence, autonomy and the opportunity to shape a positive safety culture across a specialist production site?
We are seeking a proactive EHS Manager to lead, coordinate and continuously improve Health, Safety and Environmental performance in line with legislative, corporate and site requirements. This is a key position reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The Role
As the Environment, Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of the site’s EHS strategy and day‑to‑day operations. Working closely with Site and Operational Management, you will ensure compliance, drive risk‑reduction initiatives and support teams in delivering a safe, sustainable working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Ensuring full site compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
• Developing, implementing and improving EHS management systems
• Leading health and safety risk‑reduction initiatives to safeguard employees and the business
• Developing and improving environmental programmes with legal, risk‑reduction and cost‑saving objectives
• Managing the site’s Occupational Health programme and liaising with the Occupational Health provider
• Acting as the site focal point for gathering evidence for insurers in relation to personal injury claims
• Supporting Managers and Team Leaders in fulfilling their EHS responsibilities
• Conducting accident and incident investigations and recommending corrective actions
• Carrying out Risk Assessments and driving improvement actions
• Delivering and monitoring EHS training and toolbox talks
• Tracking and maintaining EHS KPIs
• Maintaining EHS documentation in line with Quality Management processes
• Moderating EHS workshops and promoting a positive safety culture
• Identifying site training needs and maintaining personal CPD

Requirements
• Health & Safety accreditation (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
• Environmental accreditation (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent)
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Strong management and leadership skills
• Experience in accident investigation and root cause analysis
• Experience conducting EHS audits
• Experience managing Occupational Health programmes
• Experience working with insurers on personal injury claims
• Strong knowledge of relevant EHS legislation
• Experience delivering EHS training
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Systematic, organised and proactive approach
• Strong investigative and deductive skills
• Ability to develop and improve procedures and train others
