The Role
As Finance Director you’ll lead the company and group finance function, ensuring rigorous financial control, clear reporting, and strong cash/working capital management. You’ll be a key partner to the MD and leadership team, shaping strategy, improving performance, and enabling sustainable growth.
Key accountabilities
* Own financial accounting, UK GAAP reporting, statutory compliance, audit and tax (VAT, corporation tax, HMRC).
* Maintain robust internal controls, governance, FX exposure oversight and risk management.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting; provide insight on performance, risks and opportunities.
* Drive working capital optimisation and cashflow visibility to support investment and operational stability.
* Use data and technology to improve reporting, automate processes and challenge performance.
* Partner commercial and operational teams on pricing, margin, investment cases and expansion into new markets.
* Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing finance team and positive culture.
What you’ll bring
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
* Extensive senior finance experience, ideally in manufacturing/industrial environments.
* Strong UK GAAP, audit and regulatory knowledge; confident with FX and multi-currency exposure.
* Track record in cashflow/working capital improvement and commercial business partnering.
* Advanced Excel and strong ERP capability (Dynamics, SAP, Oracle or similar).
* Clear, decisive leader with high standards and a continuous-improvement mindset.
