We are recruiting qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners to join our Mental Health Support Teams across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. Vacancies are available in each location.

Please note, candidates must have completed an Education Mental Health Practitioner course.

The post-holders will be part of the Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The role involves managing a supervised clinical caseload to deliver high-quality, outcome-informed, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, and behavioral difficulties.

Successful candidates will collaborate with professionals, children, young people, families, and the wider school community to deliver Whole School Approach activities. They will utilize their training, skills, and experience to influence the school culture regarding mental health and wellbeing.

Ongoing CPD and service experience will provide the necessary knowledge, attitude, and skills to ensure children and young people access the right support at the right time.

We are committed to removing barriers to access and upholding anti-oppressive practices in our work and teams.

This role is part of a national initiative to place Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) in schools, as outlined in the Green Paper. OTR, in partnership with Avon Wiltshire Partnership Trust (AWP), is developing and implementing these roles locally.

OTR is a mental health social movement by and for young people, reaching over 20,000 across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset, with diverse mental health support.

Our approach is based on celebrating diversity, empowering young people, and building collaborative relationships within communities.

We offer benefits such as flexible leave (minimum 32 days pro rata), HealthShield healthcare assistance, hybrid working, enhanced sick pay, parental leave, ongoing training, wellbeing initiatives, and more.

A Willingness to Work with Difference

All staff are expected to work in an anti-oppressive and inclusive manner. We are committed to continuous learning in these areas and value diversity among staff and volunteers.

We recognize that addressing systemic inequality and oppression requires active engagement, self-examination, and changes where needed to improve access and experiences for all.
