Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Company Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Director, the Health and Safety Manager will develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs across our semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management, with specific experience in the manufacturing industry. Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and gases used in semiconductor manufacturing is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health and Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health and safety programs, including risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and industry-specific regulations related to hazardous chemicals and gases.
3. Training and Development: Design and deliver training on health and safety practices, emergency procedures, and handling hazardous materials.
4. Hazardous Materials Management: Oversee storage, handling, use, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain COSHH assessments.
5. Emergency Response: Lead emergency response plans, drills, and coordinate with emergency services.
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify safety process improvements and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
7. Reporting and Documentation: Record safety incidents, inspections, and compliance activities; prepare reports for management and regulators.
8. Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and facilities teams to integrate safety into manufacturing processes.
9. Audits and Inspections: Conduct safety audits, address issues promptly.
10. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary contact for safety matters and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Education: NVQ Level 6 Diploma or NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice.
* Experience: At least 5 years in a health and safety role, preferably in high-tech manufacturing or semiconductor industry.
* Knowledge: UK health and safety regulations; hazardous chemicals and gases in semiconductor manufacturing.
* Certifications: Membership in Tech IOSH or higher.
* Skills: Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving; proficiency in MS Office.
* Attributes: Proactive, detail-oriented, committed to safety standards.
