Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and lead a team of surveyors, ensuring engineering competencies meet high standards daily.
* Develop and implement regional operating plans to exceed KPIs and SLAs, focusing on both quantitative and qualitative measures.
* Communicate updates on regulations to ensure effective adherence.
* Oversee staff management, work schedules, and duties to ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality policies.
* Maintain detailed knowledge of legislative, contractual, and operational requirements for in-service examinations.
* Support site and field staff as needed.
* Conduct staff reviews, appraisals, competence assessments, and manage performance issues.
* Ensure inspections are conducted diligently, timely, and according to QA standards.
* Lead and manage customer complaints within your area.
* Address Engineer Surveyor discipline, performance, sickness, or absence issues promptly.
* Resolve operational problems, liaising with clients and managers as necessary.
* Ensure statutory requirements are met and plant examinations adhere to codes of practice.
* Stay updated on technical developments and engineering standards.
* Employ the Company QA Systems across all service areas.
* Monitor resource levels and ensure adequate coverage for all examination types.
* Correctly size Engineer Surveyor allocations and verify vehicle mileages and travel times.
* Adhere to health and safety policies.
* Participate in recruitment for additional resources.
* Build effective relationships across internal stakeholder groups.
* Lead projects as required and undertake additional duties delegated by management.
* Participate in the Emergency Duty Manager roster throughout the year.
Skills & Experience
* Proven success in managing regional teams.
* Strong customer communication skills and professional judgment.
* Experience in stakeholder management and engagement.
* Good commercial and financial understanding.
* Ability to manage and deliver KPIs.
* Self-organization skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and Apple products.
* Understanding of industry protocols.
* Previous engineering experience, particularly in in-service inspection, is advantageous.
