Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant (Band 3) to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients, working under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will bring compassion, reliability, and excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to promoting dignity, comfort, and independence for those in your care.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver hands-on personal care, including assistance with daily living activities (washing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support).
* Accurately monitor and record patient observations (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
* Support with nutritional and hydration needs, ensuring patient well-being.
* Assist with simple wound care, specimen collection, and other clinical tasks delegated by a registered nurse.
* Escort and support patients during appointments, activities, or transfers within the facility.
* Contribute to care planning by providing observations and feedback to senior staff.
* Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with policies and regulatory standards.
* Uphold infection control practices and health and safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience working in a healthcare or care setting (NHS or social care) is essential.
* NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and equality and diversity principles.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with electronic care planning and record systems.
* Experience working in hospital, community, or care home environments.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing needs.
