Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) is the largest tertiary paediatric hospital in the UK. The successful candidate will join a department of 40 consultant paediatric anaesthetists delivering sessions across RMCH, The Christie Hospital (the largest single site cancer centre in Europe), Trafford Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital.
The post attracts 10 PA sessions. The job plan may include sessions at any of the aforementioned hospitals with weekend elective work possibly required.
Responsibilities
* Provide anaesthesia for a wide range of paediatric surgical specialities, including neurosurgery, complex airway, hyperinsulinism, palatofacial surgery, burn injury, paediatric urology (bladder exstrophy), renal transplant surgery and neonatal surgery.
* Deliver a 1 in 15 on‑call rota shared with other consultant anaesthetists.
* Provide teaching, audit, CME/CPD, mandatory training, clinical governance and other administrative duties.
* Cover for colleagues during annual, study and sick leave.
* Manage clinical commitment flexible to service needs and agreed with the CSU Clinical Lead.
Requirements
Proven experience in paediatric anaesthesia.
Location & Working Hours
The role is based at RMCH with rotations at The Christie Hospital, Trafford Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital.
