Design Engineer – Civils (Below Ground Drainage)

Our client, a well-established civil & infrastructure engineering consultancy, is looking to appoint a Design Engineer with strong below-ground drainage experience to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is technically solid, solutions-focused, and looking to progress within a supportive engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed designs for below-ground drainage systems
* Prepare drainage strategies, technical notes, and supporting documents for planning submissions.
* Use design tools such as MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD to produce models, calculations, and drawings.
* Ensure compliance with local authority approval processes, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, etc
* Coordinate with internal teams—structures, transport, environmental—as well as external consultants and contractors.
* Assist with site assessments, feasibility work, and technical problem-solving.
* Contribute to project delivery, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
Requirements:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
* Experience in drainage/infrastructure design within a consultancy environment.
* Proficient with drainage modelling and CAD software.
* Strong communication and report-writing skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a technical team.
