As an Electrical Project Engineer for Rig Technologies, this is an opportunity to use and grow your professional experience and competency in a fast paced engineering group. You will be member of a regional team within a global engineering group that is responsible for delivering a range of engineering solutions for Drilling and Pressure Control Equipment.
The role will include preparing cost and duration estimates, issuing proposals, liaising with customers, managing internal and external resources and monitoring progress to achieve successful project outcomes. In this role you will apply technical knowledge and excellent organizational skills to deliver a variety of challenging projects.
You should be able to make sound engineering decisions, apply attention to detail and have a good awareness of modern manufacturing technologies and other practices related to being successful in this role. You will understand the importance of achieving targets and the commercial implications of your decisions. You should be keen to take on challenges and develop your technical and interpersonal skills, as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects.
Your day to day will include:
1. Ensuring financial performance and on-time delivery of assigned Electrical Engineering projects.
2. Providing quality and effective project management support.
3. Reviewing design inputs and review of engineering drawings.
4. Preparing reports and study existing technical information clearly and precisely to meet customer requirements.
5. Developing accurate cost estimates and effectively monitor costs to achieve required margins.
6. Effectively controlling engineering projects, following NOV order management processes and procedures
You will have:
7. Recognised trade apprenticeship with HNC or relevant electrical engineering qualification
8. IPMA Level D or equivalent
Your knowledge will include:
9. Application of Project Management principles
10. Delivering project engineering solutions.
11. Managing budgets and developing revenue forecasts.
12. Experience with oil field equipment.
13. Good understanding of electrical assemblies, schematics & technical documentation associated with control systems. This specifically relates to control systems of automated equipment and familiarity with control over hydraulic/pneumatic systems and variable speed drives.
14. Have knowledge and understanding of ISO quality system
15. Understand CE marking and harmonized directives.
16. Understand Hazardous area equipment requirements of ATEX, IEC-EX, UL
17. Understand the oil industry culture and particularly its focus on safety.
18. Understand industry standards API, DNV, ABS, NORSOK,
