We have an exciting opportunity for two high quality teachers to join our team at the start of 2026. If you have proven teaching ability supporting ākonga to achieve successful outcomes then we would like to hear from you.
It is an exciting time to be at Te Oraka Shirley Intermediate as we continue to make sustainable changes in order to deliver engaging, culturally reflective, and relevant learning experiences. Our 2023 ERO report is testament to this progress.
The successful applicants will be highly effective classroom practitioners. They will build strong relationships with ākonga, whānau, and kaiako. Having a good sense of humour, a positive outlook, and being solution focused when problem solving are highly desirable. As is being caring, empathetic and patient when interacting with our ākonga.
Being highly motivated and having excellent time management will hold you in good stead as you carry out key responsibilities which include:
* creating a learning focused teaching environment for ākonga which effectively improves student outcomes
* excellent use of assessment data to inform engaging, differentiated learning activities for ākonga
* demonstrating a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and having an understanding of cultural capabilities and culturally responsive practice and embedding these in their learning programmes and learning base culture
* consistently implementing PB4L initiatives, systems and processes
